Celebrating #YouthDay in Belgrade

Dialogue Café in Belgrade speakers: Aleksandar Bojic, Nemanja Markovic, Stefan Kondic (moderator), Mina Radoncic

In light of celebrating #YouthDay on August 12th, we had the honour to participate in the session of Dialogue Café Serbia. The session was held between Belgrade and Novi Pazar, whereas the speakers of the session were representatives of youth centres, youth and international organisations. The session’s theme was “Youth Building Peace“, where we had the perfect opportunity to present the initiative of Humans of Albania and Serbia as well as our current work on the YoutHumans website. Apart from that, we also presented the projects supported through this initiative and acknowledged that the beginnings of two of our projects were approaching – The Human Rights Youth Forum and My Village, My Network.

Nonetheless, this session was the perfect chance to discuss issues of young people of Serbia and give thoughts on both the challenges and positive stories of peace-building in our region. We also reflected upon the current role of youth in the process of peace-building, their initiatives and how their position can be enhanced. We thank the United Nations Association of Serbia for recognising us as a relevant initiative for such an important topic and express our appreciation to the other speakers of the session as well as the audience of both sides!
